Character creation in Noir City has only a few differences from a standard Savage Worlds character, as detailed below. Everything else is straight Savage Worlds, though the GM can decide whether to include Arcane Background and the like.
The hero knows a number of languages equal to half his or her Smarts die. Those that do not speak English must take the Outsider (Country of origin) Hindrance upon character creation. Additional languages can be learned, however, these must bought as skills – Knowledge (Language).
Corruption is a new secondary statistic. Upon character creation, mark it down as 0. Some Edges and Hindrances can affect your starting Corruption, as well as actions during game play, as described later.
